Exfoliating Scrub

Howdy again, kind people.

Well, it’s cold and it’s windy, and it snowed for a little while Friday.  And now it’s supposed to snow again on Monday.  And Monday’s snow could potentially be a snowstorm.  But after that it warms up.  It might even reach 40 degrees!  Maybe I should get out my swimsuit and tank tops, huh?  Haha.  🙂

When it’s cold out there’s nothing better than a nice, long soak in the tub, especially when you have some skin-softening soak and maybe a candle going.  Lately whenever I take a bath or shower my cat Pie just has to be in the bathroom with me.  It’s absolutely adorable.

Now, of my three cats Pie is definitely the most reserved.  She is the quintessential cat.  If you want her attention, YOU have to seek HER out.  She will not come to you.  But a couple weeks ago, everything changed.

Now whenever I’m ready to take a bath I’ll tell her what I’m up to, and in she’ll come, meowing excitedly.  She sits there, wagging her little stub tail.  And she’ll curl up right on the bathroom rug.  What can I say?  Women like the spa treatment, even if those women happen to be cats.  😉

Right in line with the idea of pampering yourself is the recipe I have for you today.  I’ve never had an exfoliating scrub on the blog before.  I’m actually a little surprised because I love to make them.

I’ve made all kinds before: cocoa powder, brown sugar, white sugar, sea salt, coconut oil.  This one leaves your skin feeling really silky smooth.  I love to use it on my face in the winter because usually I’m about as dry as dry can be, and I love how the olive oil makes it feel.

So if you’re in the mood to pamper yourself, give this one a try.  Just remember to turn on the faucet for your furry friends.  Maybe they want to join in too. 😉

I have never made my own scrub before. Looks so easy and definitely much less expensive than the fancy ones in the stores!

I love DIY stuff and make my own scrub often. This olive oil scrub sounds fantastic, Amanda. Love that you added vanilla. 🙂
