Cinnamon Ice Cream Affogato

affogato3

Hello everyone!  How is everyone’s week going so far?  Stressed? Chill?  Feeling a bit of ennui?  Angry that you didn’t get the cyber Monday deals you were hoping for?  Worry not!  Let’s all just take a deep breath and think happy thoughts: Christmas cookies, mini versions of barnyard animals, the joy of popping bubble wrap. 😉

For anyone who celebrates Christmas, do you have your tree up yet?  I still have to get mine.  I always like to do the fresh tree thang.  Nothing like walking in from outside and smelling that lovely pine smell.  I might actually cut my own tree down this year, people, not just buy a pre-cut one.  Can you imagine?  I mean…ME.  Cutting down a tree.

If you hear the sound of intense laughter in the distance it’ll probably be me tangling with a Scotch pine. 😄🎄

I’m also making a few Christmas ornaments this year.  I know, I know.  Me and crafts again.  I’m just a glutton for punishment aren’t I?  😉 I usually try to make a few every year.  One is a bulb ornament with quotes from A Christmas Carol inside, and the other is a paper mache top hat tree topper with old timey Christmas card images modge podged over it.  Wish me luck.

affogato

If they both come out very abstract and non-representational I can just say it was an art experiment, right?  🙂

On to the dessert I’ll probably need after crafting and probably a tiny bit of swearing: a delicious affogato!  And this one really speaks to me because it’s made with cinnamon ice cream.  Of course you can use whatever ice cream your heart desires, but you know about my love for cinnamon.

This is a dessert that takes about five minutes to put together and always makes people smile, especially if they’re devoted coffee fans.  So there’s never an excuse not to have dessert, right?  😉

I loveeee affogato and a cinnamon one sounds fabulous! The perfect tree-decorating treat 🙂 We got our tree over the weekend and put the lights on last night, but still have to decorate it!

Back when I used a fake tree I would put it up and decorate the same day. But now with the fresh tree after the hassle of cutting it, hauling it, and setting it up, I need a little breather before decorating. I usually do part one day, and part the other. 🙂 Thanks!

I LOVE popping bubble wrap! My husband always makes fun of me, but I don’t care, it’s the little things in life, right? 🙂 This affogato looks delicious, Amanda! It’s been way too long since I’ve had a sweet treat like this. Looks perfect to cozy up with by the Christmas tree!

Long live bubble wrap. I mean it’s WAY more fun to open a package that is shipped with bubble wrap versus packing peanuts, right? 🙂 Thanks, Gayle!

Guurl, I don’t know if I was just looking for the wrong things online, but I found ZERO good deals. Like, zip, zilch, ZERO. Bummer for sure. I’m thinking a few of these delicious affogatos would fix the blues though! LOVE the cinnamon in here!! Cheers! 🙂

Haha. I always tell people that I can find gifts for other people on cyber Monday, but never really anything for myself because cyber Monday never has reduced priced weird English novels or books about folklore. Haha. 🙂 Thanks, Cheyanne!

Cinnamon ice cream?! How have I never had that before! I bet it is so delicious in this great treat 🙂 & I agree – a fresh tree is the only way to go for Christmas.

And now the candy cane ice cream is in the store. Do I dare make one with that?! Mmm. 🙂 Thanks, Megan!
