Chai Iced Tea

chai iced tea

Happy New Year everyone!  I hope everyone had either a rocking or relaxing New Year’s Eve.  And I hope nobody else is dealing with the never-ending cold like I am.  Thanks Star Wars.  Yuck!😀

So lately I’ve been drinking a lot of hot tea and that Alka Seltzer dissolving medicine that you put in water.  Yum, right?  I like fall and winter.  I’m a little weird that way.  But I have to admit that as I sat there sneezing I started to dream of warm Caribbean islands.  I wanted something that reminded me of summer but still had that winter feel because…well…it’s winter.  So come here chai iced tea.  Let me give you a big ol’ hug.

I’ve always been a fan of chai in every form.  Chai lattes have always tasted like distilled Christmas to me.  And I love the spicy kick of regular chai tea.  So this was a no-brainier.

This chai iced tea is a great cross between the normal tea and a chai latte.  It has a cup of whole milk in it, so you get that creamy factor that leaves you good and satisfied.

I don’t usually sweeten my tea or coffee because I drink them as pop/soda alternatives.  But for this recipe I make an exception.  And when you’re feeling blah you have to treat yourself, right?

The great thing about having cats (or any kind of pet) when you’re sick is that they seem to pick up on it.  Generally Oliver Twist is the kind of cat who likes to run around the corner and arch his back like it’s playtime.  But he can be a real diva about whether he wants to sit in your lap.  Lately, though, he’s been jumping up and throwing himself in my lap like a fluffy pillow. I really should document amazing occurrences like this. 🙂. Gus and Pie, on the other hand, just stare at me like “What’s your deal?”

Much love!

Yum! Chai tea is one of my absolute favorites! Hope you get over that cold! Try taking elderberry syrup – you can take a tablespoon twice a day.
